Shahrzad Moradi, PhD
About the Doctor
Dr. Moradi graduated from The Florida State University with a BS in Psychology and two minors in Statistics and Child Development. There, she participated in research exploring the biological, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of anxiety and mood disorders, and disruptive behavior disorders.
Dr. Moradi obtained her MS and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Ohio University. There, she specialized her practice and research in child and adolescent psychology. Dr. Moradi was the lead lecturer for Child and Adolescent Psychology university course for two years, maintaining an active role in the education and training of undergraduate students. She additionally participated in graduate school psychology admissions (MS and PhD) programs. She completed her Clinical Child psychology residency and post-doctoral fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Moradi has been in clinical practice for nine years, for psychological therapy and assessment services with youth and their families. She has practiced both at large academic medical centers, as well as community-based clinics. Dr. Moradi is passionate about treating school-aged youth for a variety of concerns including anxiety disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Moradi’s clinical and research interests include the etiology, maintenance, and treatment of anxiety, mood, and neurodevelopmental disorders in the child and adolescent populations. She is particularly interested in the identification and treatment of risk factors and their relation to developmental psychopathology. Dr. Moradi has several notable research contributions, including recent publications in academic journals, and poster presentations at national conferences.
In her spare time, Dr. Moradi enjoys spending time with family, creating artwork, cooking, playing tennis, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and hiking with her dog. Mindfulness practices, as well living an empathic, active, and healthy lifestyle, are important to Dr. Moradi. These values often reflect in her clinical work and personal practice.
